Problem-- I am running windows xp home, when I click on system restore, all I get is a blank box........nothing else happens. I get the same results when I click on Windows Update......Any Ideas??
Go to Start > Run and type 'sfc /scannow' (without quotation marks and
with a space between the c and the forward slash) it will need the
Windows XP CD. This will look for damaged or missing Windows system
files and replace them with those of the CD.
You might have to go to Windows Update and download all updates again.
Be sure to use a firewall (either XP's own or a third-party firewall)
before you connect to the Internet.
