I am having problems with my system restarting of its own
free will. Error reporting states that a device driver
could be the cause but I cannot find which one, Is this a
known problem with a known fix, or is there some way I
can check the compatibility of my drivers. It usually
happens when gaming or when downloading (from any site)
and I have tried reformatting(twice) to no effect. This
problem is becomming a majour hassel and I cant find help
from the microsoft website either, Please Help. Email me
if there is ANY info you can offer. Thank you Mick

The blaster virus will shutdown or restart your machine
at various intervals. You may want to make sure this
virus isn't resident. Current AV defs may not get rid of
the blaster virus. Download and run the blaster removal
tool from Symantec or other virus software vendors.

By default, XP will reboot when it encounters a
problem. If system is found to be clean of a virus, go to
system restore and see if there is a restore point before
said problem occured. If not,go to device manager and
starting with video display adapter start troubleshooting
hardware.Make sure there are no colored icons next to
anything and one at a time, check for new drivers or roll
back to a old driver, or remove driver and then reboot
and let XP find one.Try to remember if there was anything
you added or replaced recently. If you suspect a
virus, don't use system restore untell you do a virus
check/removal....Good luck.
