The maker of your PC is required to provide some type of restore/recovery
disc or a Windows XP CD-ROM. If you dont have either of them contact the
maker of your PC for instructions on howto get one.
It depend on the type of computer you have. I think for
HPs you press F10 while it is starting up. There is a
blue screen that will come up and then keep pressing
F10. I hope this works for you.
I just called HP for the same problem. They said rename the My Documents
folder to a name you'll remember. I renamed to My Folders.
Then press F10 while the computer is booting up and it'll go thru system
restore.
There's 2 other options as well.
Upon boot up, press F8 and you'll see a restore option there.
Also, if you can get to windows, click Start, Accessories, System Tools,
then look at the bottom of the list for System Restore. If there's any
*bolded* dates, you can choose one of those dates and follow the menu's.
