System recovery/restore HELP!

My sis-inlaw has an HP/PentiumII older model computer and
is having a bit of trouble operating it, errors stop
operations constantly. I told her if she restores the
system it might help but I'm not savy enough to figure out
how exactly to do it for her, nor is she. If anyone could
help it would be appreciated greatly. Thank You.
