You should promptly contact Toshiba about this, because it isn't a Windows
problem.

The disk you have is an "image" of an XP installation, made using Norton
Ghost. It's clearly having a problem on your system, and this problem is
occuring completely outside of XP.

Ghost is asking for a floppy disk to write the error file to, which will
have some information as to what exactly the problem is; many systems now do
not have floppy drives, so ths isn't particularly helpful. I use USB
floppy drives for this crcumstance. They are about $20, and just plug into
any USB port, though you pretty much have to restart the system to have them
recognised.

It is quite possible that it legitimately uses Win98 for booting to the
Ghost restore process, or that it's the wrong disk, or that there is a
problem with the hard disk or a BIOS setting, but you really need to check
this with Toshiba Support.

Finally, these kinds of disks typically wipe the drive as part of the
restore process, so you need to be sure before you start - and it may be too
late now - that any user data is backed up to external disks.

The program is expecting a floppy disk drive. Just by a USB floppy disk
drive, and XP will call it A:

Norton Ghost since at least version 7 hasn't used a floppy disk. It
uses a CD. Ghost asks for the CD.
If it's asking for a floppy it's likely not Ghost; in fact, might be
ntbackup.exe, I'd say.

In many years of using Ghost I have never seen it ask for a floppy. Are
you certain of this information? Seems suspect to me. Any outputs,
etc, are also redirectable to wherever you want them to go.
