System processes

I just installed OL 2003 with Business Contact Manager
and my computer has slowed to a crawl. I notice in task
manager I have 39 processes, some with the same name.
How can I reduce the active processes to what's really
needed to free resources. Does anyone have any reference
suggestions?

Look in Windows Services. You can disable about 75% of the stuff Windows
thinks you should be loading and running.
