System Performance

Every time I try to play a game, no matter what it is, i get a constantly updating screen display o the performance of the computer, from cpu level to the frames per second, I havent installed anything bar my games, does anyone know what this is and how to stop it as its slighlty irritating when wanting to play a game, I have XP Proffessional, but had this problem once before with Home edition?? any ideas???
 
Hi Justin,

Windows doesn't show your FPS during games, so it's something
that's installed on your system similar to FRAPS, or System Doctor,
or some advanced Video monitoring system installed when you
updated your video card drivers. Check your System Tray and your
Task Manager for anything remotely suspect, exit it, and test the game.
