Oh, and FYI. I've run complete scans with my Nortan AV
with latest DATs (12/3) AND McAfee's free online scan AND
spybot AND hijackthis. I have Zone Alarm's latest running,
it's not picking up anything. I am clean as a whistle. . .
and I am still rebooting spontaneously whenever I'm
surfing on IE 5.5 or 6. No weird sites either. Just poking
around MSN.com will do the trick.

My system will stay up for hours with other windows apps
(calculator) or video games. Reboot is only with IE.

Help???

Clean the fan on the back of your computer and make sure tha the small fan
for your CPU is OK.

I appreciate the reply, but no dice. The article referred
to Win2K. I'm Win98 and both my BIOS and my Win Power Mgmt
settings are set to never. Recently vaccumed both fans and
they are clean. Again on both fronts, I only get the
problem with IE 6/5.5 cruising around MSN type sites. I've
been on for hours playing a game with no prob.

I'll try ghosting back and take it from there. Guess I'm
stuck with IE 5.
