System not visible in the network

hi

i have created a active directory by the name xyz.com and
its NETBIOS name is xyzdom , v had one the new system(OS
windows 2000 professional) joining the domain recently ,
the probelm is that his system is not visible in the
network neighbourhood. whereas he can access other systems
shared files, nobody is able to see him hence not able to
access his shared data.

i removed him from the domain and put him back again in
the domain , but the probelm persists, i observed one
thing , when i was removing him from the Domain , i saw
that doman name displayed in the network identification
was xyz.com whereas in all other system its just xyzdom.
is the probelm because of this , if so how to resolve it ,
some body kindle help me out

Check these things first:
Is the server correctly registered with a WINS server?
Are the Server and Workstation services started?
Is File & Print sharing enabled?
