I can't find the System Monitor in Windows XP. I used to use it a lot in
Windows 98. Is it under another name or something? -emf

Hi,

Doesn't exist in WinXP. What are you trying to monitor? The performance tab
of Task Manager (hit ctrl+shift+escape) has several of the things that
System Monitor measured, like ram use and paging.

Start>Run>perfmon.msc>OK

Or,
Open Control Panel,double-click Administrative Tools, and then
double-click Performance.

Well, both are interesting. A little complicated, but interesting.
Anyway, with the System Monitor I used to follow the dial-up adapter
bites received. Can I do it with one of these 2 utilities? Thanks, -emf

Thanks. But which one is the Dial-up adapter's received bites/sec? I
tried a couple of received bites/sec but they didn't show any activity
while I was receiving data... -emf

OO, I now I have the

Network Interface / Bytes Recieved/sec / MS TPC Loppback Interface

and

Network Interface / Bytes Total/.sec / MS TPC Loppback Interface

on, with

Data / Scale: 1.0
Graph / Vertical scale 0-100
General / Sample automatically every: 10 seconds.

The graph, however, does not resemble the one in Windoes 98. It is like
the teeth of a saw and the average is 32000 while the current speed of
the connection is 46... Any ideas?

Thanks. But which one is the Dial-up adapter's received bites/sec? I
