Is this Program A good one or does this Program get in the way of a better
way of proteting my Computer and what is the best software to Use!

Hi,

I would stay away from System Mechanic.

I have had very good results using a reliable antivirus application (no
Norton and McAfee), Ad-aware, Spybot and Spywareblaster, along with keeping
the system up to date with SP2/Windows Update.

You will find more information on these application on the following page.

I'm inclined to agree with Bert on this one

Once a useful utility suite, back in the days of MS-DOS, when Peter
Norton was more than a picture on the box, Norton Utilities have been
becoming increasingly useless and redundant over the years. There's
little offered by NU that WinXP cannot already do natively. And some of
its features, like CrashGuard and CleanSweep (if they're still included)
cause far more problems then they prevent.

I am far from being a System Mechanic Fan, but as far as I'm concerned,
Norton System Works (or Norton anything) is not better than anything.

As Bruce has already said, Norton was good years ago, but i certainly
wouldn't use any Norton product now. It's more trouble than it is worth.

Well, I think Norton is a little better than McAfee, which is the one I put
on the bottom of the list. Norton just above it.
