Hi,
The default SystemDB (in the registry) that points to "System.mdw" is
located in the following registry key:
HKey_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Access\Jet\4.0\Engines
For whatever reason that registry key is not being created (Anti-Virus
running, 3rd party software interfering)
Recommend you
- Uninstall Office
- Delete the Office fold \Program Files\Microsoft Office
- Delete the registry keys
HKey_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office
HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office
- Reboot computer (preferrable without 3rd party services running)
- Reinstall Office
I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
Regards,
Eric Butts

I have a user who is unable to use Access 2000. When trying to open it,
we receive the error "Error occurred and no longer functioning - would
like to install this feature now". Either hitting Yes or No gives you
the message "System.mdw is missing and is required at startup".
|
| I've repaired/reinstalled Office 2000 and Access 2000. Also noticed
that there is no registry entry for Access in
HKey_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0.
|
| Oh, also, when you double click Access, it appears to be installing
something (???)
|
| Any suggestions? Anyone seen this before? I appreciate any feedback.
|
| Thanks!
