My operating system is WindowsXP. When I turn my
computer on it just reboots over and over again.
Any idea as to what is causing the problem.

hi, same thing happened to me. i talked to a hp reseller
who had 3 customers this month with the same problem.
after 3 weeks between hp and microsoft people the only
solution they came up with was to reformat and reinstall
windows again from the start. i bought a new hardrive to
install windows in then tried to recover from my files
from the old but i think i did more damage than good with
windows utilities on a win98 startup disk. now i have
files fragments that scandisk put together for me but i
think i'm gonna use the undo disk and see if i can go
back, but anything i tried before that only gave me
feedback that the c drive was damaged. maybe if i did
the new hardrive thing first before running utilities i
might have had an easier time recovering them.

I had this problem and its serious, so serious that my
computer compnay replaced the ram (due to an 000008e
error) and also because my RAID hd was corrupting alot
data. There is a help file on the MS Support pages about
removing your old registry but its hard, if your computer
is still in warranty get a new HD, but all data will be
gone or try and restore orginal REG files.
