system keeps rebooting

Cannot boot up computer in Windows 2000 Pro, gets past
the POST and before it goes to a desktop it just starts
rebooting again. Can't even get in safe mode.

boot from the Windows 2K CD and do a repair install when it gives the
option

The steps that the previous person was referring to is from our knowledge
base article Q292175 (http://support.microsoft.com/?id=292175).

However, there are a number of causes of this problem. This could be either
a software problem or a hardware problem. We really need more information
to try and help you:

1) When did this start happening?
2) Does it boot up to the point where it would ask you to login?
3) What kind of machine do you have?
4) What was the last change that was made to the operating system (i.e.
patches, service packs, etc).?
5) Are you running any anti-virus software?
