Hello All,

Iam doing a project in MS Access 2003. I need a help from your
expertise. I have a table and am providing a GUI through Forms. I
provide a form for the user to add or edit records of the table.Once
they add or edit records, I want to track the user who modified the
Database and store the same in the Database without asking them to
enter their name.
So Is there any way to access the system information like "computer
name" , which will help me to track the user ?

I found this group extremely helpful so far for my project. I really
thank all of you.
Please provide your suggestions for the above mentioned task.

Hi,
there are several methods to retrieve this data.
The easiest would be to use the environ function:

Environ("USERNAME")

I always cringe when people suggest using an environment variable for this
purpose, given how easy it is to reset environment variables.

Far safer, in my opinion, is to use the GetUserName API call, as illustrated
in http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0008.htm
