When i look at software environment / system drivers, i'm seeing ALOT of drivers were the Description = File Name, File Location = NOT AVAILABLE, Type = KERNAL DRIVER, Started = NO, Start mode = DISABLED, State = STOPPED, Status = OK, Error Control = IGNORE Or NORMAL, Accept Pause = NO, Accept Stop = NO This bothers me to no end. Is there something amiss ?? I'm running XP Home -- which is new to me. I don't remember my old pc (w98) ever having none descriptive drivers in unavailable locations. In the Signed Driver section, there's a few listings of ??(column name) = NOT AVAILABLE all across the line until you get to Device ID which = HTREE\ROOT\0. Others have a name (example, BEEP) NOT AVAILABLE in all other columns until you get to Device ID where there's something like ROOT\LEGACY_BEEP\00
Should i be concerned? I am sluggish and do get frequent errors in kernel 32 (which i never understand fully) Error message usually goes something like " xxx created an error in kernel 32") Thanks Merry Christmas.

Hi, This is normal in this area. The system does not use
drivers to talk to everything. Some apps. only need
instructions to work. Alot of what you do does not even go
through the processor just memory. Most devices on your
computer work indepently from the processor(ex. most video
cards now run all it's processing through it's own on
board control chipsets). As for your computer running
slower than usual I would try defragging, spyware removal
tools and get all the updated drivers and windows updates.
If this does not help go to www.pcpitstop.com and running
their complete tests they might be able to help you
determine what if anything is wrong with your setup. I
reload my system every 3-4 months and this seems to keep
my system speed and over all speed very pleaseing to me. I
know this sounds to be alot to go through but in most
installs it goes very quickly for me. I have a good and
fast system so this is nothing for me to do in 2-3 hours.
When done it's like a new system though so I put up with
it.Hope this helps!

Pease
Mike
