System idle Process

Help....

I recently checked my task manager and found that the system idle process is
eating up to better than 90 % of my cpu capabilities. Is this normal or
might I have a virus or something along that line?

"Idle" is just that: How much time the cpu is "idle", doing nothing. So,
that means 90% of the time, nothing is going on and 10% of the time is left
doing something.

Break out a dictionary and look up the word "idle," sometime. ;-}
The "System Idle Process" metric is the amount/percentage of time that
your CPU has nothing to do. A reading of 98-99% is generally
considered a good thing, and readings above 90% are normal. Think of
it like a car's engine idling in your driveway before you place the
car in gear.
