Dear all,

I have this verry bad situation. A Windows2000 server has been crashed
after a reboot.
It simply doesn't want to startup.
As I found out what the problem is I'm trying to resolve it.

KB article. 269075 explains what to do to repair the win2000 server.
As I'm trying to I'm stuck on a step.

1 use the windows 2000 CD-ROM or the win2000 startup disk to start the
computer.
2 When you see the "welcome to setup" message, press R for "repair"
3 Press C to run the recovery Console tool.
4 Select the installation that you want to repair.
5 Type the administrator password.

I do all steps until 5 where I need to type the administraor password.
I tried it but after 3 atemps I'm have to press enter to restart the pc.

I know the administrator password. But it doesn't work. Is it an onther
kind of administrator?
I also tried filling it in azerty and qwerty. because normally I use
azerty but maybe by booting in repair its qwerty.

Can anyone help me please??
Thank you for any help

regards,

The password it wants is the local Administrator password, not a network or
AD Administrator password. This would be the password you put in when
Windows 2000 Setup asked you for a password for the Administrator account.
