System hangs on 'Logging off...'

Greetings-

I have several machines which are on an AD Domain. They are all 2k and 2k3
servers with the latest SP (2k).
Intermittently, on no particular machine, the system hangs on logoff of the TS
session. It hangs on the 'Logging Off...' screen, and the color bar does not
move at all. Eventually, the connection will timeout, but it will not quit
normally. The timeout is usually in excess of 10 minutes. I have tried UBHClean,
and this does not seem to resolve anything.
I do not see anything relevant in the KBs, and was wondering if anyone has
come across this problem. I'm going to dig into the archives a bit, but would
appreciate if anyone has some info. I am using remote desktop to connect, so I
do not know if the problem exists on the old client.

Please advise-

Thanks

Hi Peter
Try to delete the 'hanging' profile on the server immediately after the problem. You probably can’t. Then use this tool http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/handle.shtml to find out which process is locking the file(s) in the profile you want to delete. If the handle tool does not show any process that is locking the file(s), it is the registry that is locking your profile. In that case, UBHClean should work. If the handle tool does show a process that is locking the file(s), you might be able to find out what the problem might be
Cheers
Spikey!
