problem description
On powerup/boot, XP (Home Edition) displays the usual
screen with the XP logo and the bar indicating the boot
process is cycling.
Next, the system displays the user login screen. At this
point the system hangs; the mouse pointer will not move,
no action on the keyboard (function keys, alphanumberic
keys, tab, etc.) produces a result on the screen.
Intermittently, powerup/boot generates a bluescreen
following the XP logo screen with the message:
Checking file system on C:
Type of file system is FAT32.
One or more of your disks needs to be checked for
conistency. You may cancel the check etc.
The check appears to be executing.
Then file information is displayed.
No error is returned.
Thanks in advance for your consideration and assistance.
