I was performing some maintenance on my machine when my
PCI sound card inadvertently came partially out of the PCI
slot. This was producing a "static" or "snow" sound.
I saw the problem and accidently nudged the card before
shutting down and powering off the system. The nudge
resulted in the system freezing. Now the computer will not
boot up at all. The power comes on, the hard drives spin
up but then simply keep running (HD access light is
continually lit).
The computer will not boot in any fashion, monitor is not
turned on, and this after sitting 6 hours unplugged. I
know this is most likely a power/ESD issue. Any chance of
being an easy fix out there?
