Hi! I have switched an active ide Seagate 10GB hdd from another system (home
use).
On that system it has Nvidia 32mb ram video card, I have forgotten to
removed it.

So when I have connected it to the other system, the booting process will
halt immediately
after the "detecting hardware at the display settings level". I have tried
so many times
without any succes to disable/ remove the driver -using the rescue disk |
dos mode.

I cannot find the video card driver file while in the DOS mode directory.
Can someone kindly advise me how to disable the Nvidia v/card driver without
resorting to formating the hdd? Which file to identify?

I am running on a cyrix media 150mhz with onboard video & sound,
Win.98se,only one master hdd, one cdrom, 24mb EDO ram.

Thanks in advance.

Try re-installing win98, over itself.

Wen.Lo stood up at show-n-tell, in (e-mail address removed), and said:

start the computer ( if its not a compaq dell gateway) then tap the F8 key BEFORE the "starting windows" text appears, This will
work on dells and such, but some of those want a key hit first before the F8.
