system freeze with word/excel

Hi

my system works fine but it hangs with MSWord and or MS Excel..
I can work for some time (variable ~30 min) and then the computer hangs I must reset it

I have eliminated many background tasks (keboard monitor, nvidia services, etc. ) and it goes bette
but still hanging... eliminating Norton auto-protect also helps a litte (I can work for even 1 hour without problems

I have made many things but the problems still there

Any idea? (other than reinstall MS Office or the system

If you are browsing for files, then opening a Word or
Excel file by douple-clicking, you may be suffering a
common problem with explorer.exe, rather than Word or
Excel. Check for running processes, and look for anything
using lots of CPU.

I don't have a fix, but can at least isolate the problem
by showing that if I restart Windows, then start Word from
the Program menu, and then open documents, all is OK, but
if I browse to a file and open it, explorer.exe locks up
the system.

Haven't found a fix yet.... I'm still trolling the forums
for ideas. KB 819946 is related, but does not sort out
the problem in my case.
