I noticed in my Documents and Settings folder that the
name on the user folder is different from the
administrator's log on name. For example, the user
folder in Documents and Settings says John Doe but the
log on for that folder is William Tell. How do I
reconcile this discrepancy? Thanks.

You can change the "friendly name" of an account that shows on the welcome
screen and Start Menu as many times as you want. The folder name for the
account always remains unchanged.

When you first create an account, the friendly name and folder name will
match.

To reconcile the discrepancy, rename the existing account so it isn't using
the name that you want on your account. Then create a new account with that
name. Log on to it once so that its folders will be created in Documents
and Settings.

You can then copy the data and settings from the old account to the new
account using System Properties> Advanced> User Profiles.
