I have searched all my notes and just cannot find the actual command
that allows checking system files from the command line. The one that
may or may not pull files down from the CD. The parameter was /now, but
I simply cannot remember the command. Any help?

Dang. Had the call all the time -- "SFC". Daughters help a lot when
you get older. Had a complete brain freeze. Embarrassing, really.

You're thinking of the system file checker - sfc - and the command line
you may have in mind is sfc /scannow

'Brain blocks' - I know all about 'em. When I can remember what they
are, that is.

Right you are. Seems like I am forgetting things more and more the
older I get. Time to start carrying a bigger pocket notebook.

Speaking of System File Checker, has anyone tried using SFC on WinXP SP-3.

It's not working for me. Cannot find correct files to replace some of them,
whether I use my WinXP SP-2 CD or the I386 folder in SP-3.
