Yeah, saw that too, sorry.
I fixed it by reinstalling from CD. Modify the system BIOS to boot
from CD, put the CD back in, press space during POST to boot from the
CD, You'll see the option to repair your installation. don't choose
that one (although you think it should be the correct one....it's
not), choose the Install. Later on, you'll get the option to repair,
so choose that one at that time.
I think the first screen's repair function looks at date-codes of
installed files, and if you have anything later than CD dates, it
assumes those are better than CD so leaves them in place. Not I think
what you want.
I did this procedure, and all my settings were still in-place. I
didn't have RAID or anything fancy in the server, this might not work
if you do have that.
You'll have to reinstall all your security patches. Think about
SP4....
