My XP starts up and the box says iSass.exe-system error. Insufficient system
resources exist to complete the API. If I click the okay button, or the close
button, it just restarts the computer right back to the same box. How do I
get to some other screen to try and address the problem?

iSass.exe is a virus. Schedule your a/v to perform a boot scan. If you
can't get there to do that, try starting in Safe Mode and run the a/v
software there.

I can get to the safe mode of the computer but I don't know where to get to
the A/V boot scan?
Thanks

Within your anti-virus program.

If you can get online, use the TrendMicro Housecall. If you can't, and you
can't do the scans, remove your drive, attach it to a system that has
up-to-date anti-virus software. Scan it throroughly from there, and clean
out all of the temporary file and cache folders as those are the prime entry
points.

You will at this point probably also find a number of instances in the
\windows and windows\system32 folders. And, you'll probably also find that
the system restore points are infected; the only way to deal with that is to
turn System Restore off, then on again.

When in Safe Mode, open your a/v (antivirus software), and do a scan.
If that doesn't work, schedule a boot scan within the a/v software, then
restart the computer.
