Not sure if this is the right place to report this, but
I've rcvd 2 System Error (Blue Screens) since installing
AntiSpyWare. I can't explicitly tie these to the Beta
product, but it's worth reporting. Both these errors
occurred 'out of the blue' & are being tracked on
https://oca.microsoft.com/en/secure/status.aspx as
15088268 & 15109958.

The 1st bluescreen (Error code 10000050) occurred on 3/16
and indicated that it was potentially a physical RAM
issue, so I didn't suspect AntiSpyware. The 2nd
bluescreen (Error code 1000008e) occurred on 3/25
indicating a device driver issue - possibly antivirus.

Anybody else seen this? TIA - CR

Thanks for posting the details--the tracking numbers.

I know that crash reports for the apps themselves get to the team
directly--I suspect that if a Microsoft Antispyware module shows up in the
crash report they may get to see that report as well.

Is there anything else we need to know about your system? Is the clock
standard for the processor involved?

We haven't seen any significant number of this kind of report through the
beta, but there are always occasional blue-screen crashes reported in a
beta, and at "newsgroup distance" it isn't easy to tell whether they are
beta related or not at times.

My system is an IBM T21 (2647-47U) w/no overclocking on
the PIII-800. However, in Jan I upgraded to a 60GB drive
(WD 600VE); a new Battery; & upgraded the memory to 512MB
(2 sticks of 256). I originally suspected the memory in
the 3/16/05 dump - Error code 10000050 states it could HW
or SW, but "suggests that a HW issue is more likely".
But I'd been running the new HW several weeks w/o issue.
Then on 3/25 I get Error code 1000008e, which suggests a
device driver is the culprit - possibly a FW or AV, which
made me think of MSAS. TIA - CR

I had the blue screen error report too. I came here to
look and see if maybe there were some information that I
could get that might help. After I downloaded the latest
patch today 26March 2005, my norton internet security 2005
turned off its antivirus and then the norton IS 2005
wouldn't open at all. Right after that I scanned with
Microsoft AS and picked up two trojan downloaders and one
virus. DANG!! At any rate I am thinking that there is
some sort of incompatibility issue with the patch and
Norton Antivirus.>
