helpme!!!

hey,
my household comp has been crashing alot lately, giving
the error message:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
STOP: 0X0000000A (0X01000003, 0X00000002, 0X00000000,
0X804FFE84)
upon reboot, windows crash analysis at first said
something about an avance driver needing to be updated;
now it only says "device driver caused error".
has anyone else seen this problem?? what can i do to
correct it? i've looked around both the microsoft&avance
sites, and there is either no info or i cannae figure out
how to see it/apply it!! please help, thankuthanku!!!

That sounds a bit strange, via do their own audio drivers.

Is this for onboard sound on a motherboard with a via chipset , if so, do
you know the model and manufacturer of the motherboard, or do you have a
separate sound card, if so again give manufacturer and model. ?

Also when the system crashes, what is the name of the driver it gives, this
should be near the bottom to the blue screen, a filename ending in .SYS
