Some how the directory got moved from the system drive to another physical
drive (drive E). How could this have happened and is there a way of getting
it back on the system drive ( Drive C)?

Did you try moving the directory back to drive C:?

Has a removable drive grabbed the C designation?

If yes it is not a simple matter to reverse.

Hope this helps.

If the drives are internal , easiest way is drag and drop .

No - It is an internal hard drive

It's not clear to me what you're saying. What do you mean by the
"System directory"

When did this move take place? What is on C: now?

Frank

You have us all confused!

What drives do you have and how is each partioned? Please make clear the
nature of each drive e.g. internal hard drive, external hard drive,
etc,.
