My PC has been crashign every now and again. I've got rid
of a series of Errors listed in the Eent viewer under the
Aplications section with the source "True vector Engine" -
apparently due to Zone Alarm, which haven't reappeared.
However, my system keeps on crashing, and the only warning
notes in the Event viewer are now under the System section
with regard to Remote Access Event ID 20169 which states:
"Unable to contact a DHCP server. The Automatic Private IP
Address 169.254.219.234 will be assigned to dial-in
clients. Clients may be unable to access resources on the
network.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."
Said link doesn't help at all!
Any ideas? I've defragged the HD using Norton System
works and ran Norton to check for errors using Norton
WinDoctor, but my system still keels over and just "hangs"
without doing anything for an extended period of time.
I've woken up in the morning sometimes to find it just
frozen and nothing I can do to fix it but hit the reset
button.
Cheers,
David.
