Windows just locks up and the computer shuts off. How can I begin to trouble shoot the problem? There is no disk check when it starts back up. It is like it doesn't know that it died. There must be some type of log file somewhere that can give me a hint of the problem...something with a time log. Can anyone help

Hi Mike,

Start/run eventvwr.msc, check the system and application logs for clues.

I thought this helped, but I have discovered shutdowns that are not recorded
in the event log. The computer freezes, then shuts off without leaving a log
event about it. Do you have any other suggestions concerning clues?
