System Crashes every 5 mins.-Please help.

I have winxp in my computer. For the past 4 days, my
system is crashing every 5 mins I start it. I didnt do
any major changes. Did not install any new software or
hard drive or did nothing. The system restarts itself,
and after restarting there comes a message saying the
sytem just recovered from a serious error. Any program I
start IEplorer or other software like MS-word, crashes 5
mins after I start. I tried loading winxp servicepack1
but didnt help. This is very frustarting. Please help.

Check for a CPU overheating problem.
 
Are the fans running? Are they clean? Is there space around the computer? Not
in a closed environment? Do you have any common sense?
 
Hey... I've been having the EXACT same problems for the past few days. For unknown reasons my PC will just reboot. No explaination... upon restart I get the exact same messages. There had to be something in one of the windows updates that caused it. I even did a fresh install thinking it was my probelm... not so.
