System Crash?

Windows XP user window shows, I type in my user name and password and it logs
me on then immediately off again. How do I fix this problem without having to
format and reload windows? I tried safe mode and it didn't work at all.

Have you removed anything (virus etc) recently. One option seems to be "last
known good configuration"
