Hello,

I've got the following problem:

From one day to the other a Windows XP Pro PC displays "a weird font" after
having logged on!?
The logon window is still readable though the font seems to be bigger than
normal, but then after logging on, the problems really begin! Every menu,
button, file name, window name is composed of weird signs, ie. erç%T+"*ç
!?!?

The programs seem to work (you can click the icons), but you can't do
anything since you can't read anything anymore. Could be a virus of course,
but that would surprise me since Norton AV is running with updated AV
definitions ... May be a trojan? Or an even simpler explanation??

So any suggestions how I might get my normal font back?
Is it possible to somehow copy files from that PC onto a different location
to save that data before re-installing Windows XP?
I tried with the recovery console but he keeps denying me access to
different folders??

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You might check your control panel \ regional and language settings.
