When trying to set the system clock on windows 2000
workstations I get message I do not have permission to
change setting. I am logged on as administrator. I check
policy and administrator is set in change system time. Is
the 2003 domain controler over ridding this setting?
Thanks
Gary

Do you log on to the domain or local computer? If you logon to the domain,
workstation automatically will synchronize its time with PDC Emulator. If
oyu logon to the local computer, you should be able to change the time.

Check the Local Security policy for effective settings which would need to include
"administrators" for you to change the system time. By default domain admins group is
a member of local administrators group on domain computers but can be removed. Make
sure the "effective" policy is administrators and that you are logged on as a user
that is in the administrators group on those computers. Net localgroup administrators
will quickly display local administrators group membership. -- Steve

Thanks for the help. I found out that it was Deepfreeze
software preventing the time change. When deepfreeze is
installed even administrators cannot change time when
machine is thawed.
