System Boot Disc Error

My computer froze up, so I rebooted it. When it was loading on the black screen, under the words, Verifying DMI Pool, it would say: System Boot Disc Error. When I hit enter, it would prompt me to insert a setup disc in my floppy drive....which I don't have. What causes this?

HI Sas,

Possibly your harddrive is failing. Try going to the recovery console
using the Windows XP CD and type:
chkdsk /R
It will try to repair the disk and may take awhile.
When it's done, type exit and see if the PC boots normally.

When this happens it is probably a hardware fault, maybe the
harddrive, the CD-ROM or the keyboard.

More info on the recovery console:

Good luck, hope this helps.
