Have a purchased/registered copy of AVG for virus protection. Been running
it for a couple of months. All of a sudden, I cannot accesst the "AVG
Control Center" to change settings or stop the automatic scanning that slows
down the system. The message I get is:
"Access to AVG Control Center has been disallowed by the system
administrator."

This is a single usere XP system - had for over a year - and never been into
the "system administrator" options.

What's happened & how did it get changed? How do I fix it?

Thanks for any help. (Have not had luck getting help from AVG so far.) AK

It is nothing to do with AVG. Look at all your settings in Outlook
Express/Tools/Settings
You may find your answer there

Thanks for the suggestion as to where to look to possibly fix this problem.
This morning - after about 3 days with this problem, the problem no longer
exists.
I didn't change anything. My AVG menu comes up and I can stop & start the
scanning if I want to.
I am setup for automatic Microsoft updates.
Could that possibly have been involved?
