The only thing i can think of would be a UDB file... but i cant remember if
you can use those with sysprep or not. They are not fun to maintain either,
i tried once but eventually just gave up. If you have a small network and
you need to always assign the same address to the same computer i would
evaluate the pros and cons of using DHCP reservations on your DHCP server.
Thanks for the response. I can't use DHCP unfortunatley, I've tried every
combo in the sysprep inf I can think of. If I remove the Networking section
that will step you though the whole network configuration where you can enter
an IP. I'm trying to limit most user intervention though to elimiate errors.
What about automating the setup of the Networking section and put answers in
for everything but the IP address. Mini-Setup should then ask for the IP
address to be entered manuall i would think. Or you could try configuring
the answer file with a bogus IP address like 512.512.512.512 and see what
happens with that...
