Hello,

I have a problem with sysprepping my RC2 release of vista., wehn i do it and
reboot i have to re-install my machine because he is missing several files.

Can this have anything to do with having XP and Vista on my machine? or can
anybody tell me where to find the latest version of sysprep?

thanks
jerry

Hello Jerry,
what files are reported as missing?
As long as they are installed to different volumes, running sysprep on
Windows Vista should not be affected by a prior installation of Windows XP.
sysprep is located at \windows\system32\sysprep\sysprep.exe
Thanks,

Well, i have just installed a fresh copy on antohter system with no other os
installed and it works fien. the previous system had XP and Vista on 1 HDD
but in 2 different partitions.
I hav yet encountered another issue, when i sysprep the machine and
configure that he must reboot en go to the OOBE, the old users are not
deleted. i canb ealk thru the oobe end crate a new user, but the old users
are still there.

and my final issue : waht does vista show me when i choose generelize?
within the sysprep util?

thanks

Hello Jerry,
I suspect that something else is causing the issue which is why I asked for
the list of files to begin with. by default there isn't any issue with
running sysprep on a WIndows Vista System with Windows XP installed to it's
own volume. The list of files may give some more information.
Sysprep doesn't strip the existing profiles from the system so those
profiles are still going to remain.
I am not sure I understand the question on generalize, there isn't
anything to see if that is what you are asking.
Thanks,

What i meant about generelize is that when i choose generelize, does vista
give me any feedback?

I was trying to reproduce the error, but i din not have any luck yet.
