Sysadmin logon accepts passwd then returns to logon. This happens
periodically but not always. It does not happen in any other user logon as
far as I can determine (some users are not here). I am running the antivirus
beta but this happened prior to installing the beta. There is no indication
in the error reports of any problem. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Leo

Check this registry setting is exactly the same on your computer:
Start\Run\type; regedit and hit enter.... and check this key setting.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Userinit\C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,
(notice the coma at the end of .exe)
If not so; make the correction on the value's data.... some spyware make
changes that replace the userinit.exe, and the moment the spyware is
removed the logon is messed up. Some newer versions of antispyware programs
have this problem taken care of, and have the necessary changes made on
them to address this problem and prevent the damage removing the corrupted
key setting can cause.
It's posible this is not the cause in your situation, but it's worth the
trouble to check.

One thing is likely, your computer is probably infected and more
specifically your account is probably being affected by some type
of spyware infection. You can only make sure that is not the case by using
antispyware programs and perform a system disinfection.
If you have not done a system cleanup lately, the result after a scann will
probably be positive [infection].

You should install.... and update the following programs before the first
scann, if nothing is found in normal logon mode, restart your computer
and press several times the F8 key and select the Safe Mode option to logon.
Also check in Start\Run\msconfig\hit enter\Start\and remove the check
mark from those processes you do not recognize as part of the antivirus
program, Office shortcut bar or Messenger. (do this before the first scann)
