xp stops half way through start up. when i look in the
processess list i find that if i shut the file
called "sys.exe" then the startup continues, and all
programs appear to function normally.

i can't find this file if i search the computer to find
out more about it, and therefore i can't delete it.

any help? don't get too technical with me!!!

I struggled through this for a while last night and finally figured
out this morning.

This is called the Dynamic Desktop Media Adware. To get rid of it
1. End sysu.exe using task manager.
2. Delete the C:\Program Files\ddm folder. Use Shift+Delete.
