Hi,
I have shared a folder on a Windows XP Home edition machine which I would
like to give everyone on my home network access to. When a person from
another machine tries to connect to the XP Home computer, they type in "\\ip
address" from the run line and they get a logon screen asking for a
username/password. What is the syntax when entering the logon name? I have
tried entering username, computer/username, and workgroup/username plus
password which all get rejected. I get the error "bad username or Password".
Is there another syntax or something else I need to do. Thanks.

I believe XP Home forces all network connections to use the Guest
account. Try using "Guest" as the login name. As for the syntax of
the user name, you should be using a back-slash instead of a slash:
computername\user
