Just downloaded SyncToy v1.2. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but here's
the problem:
Suppose I have a directory on my fixed hard drive with the following files,
and I've used SyncToy to back these up to an external hard drive:
Pic1
Pic2
Pic3
Pic4
Pic5
Later, I decide I don't want Pic3 and Pic4. I delete them from my fixed
drive, and I rename Pic5 -> Pic3, so that my final directory will be:
Pic1
Pic2
Pic3 (used to be Pic5)
Now, if I "Echo" from my fixed drive (where the changes were made) to the
external hard drive, SyncToy will overwrite Pic3 correctly, but then it will
leave Pic4 and Pic5 on the external hard drive:
Pic1
Pic2
Pic3 (used to be Pic5)
Pic4 (not deleted on the "right" folder after "Echo")
Pic5 (now a duplicate of Pic3)
My understanding is that SyncToy SHOULD have deleted Pic4 & Pic5 when in
Echo mode.
What am I doing wrong, or is this a bug?
