Synctoy question - using the echo copy

I'm trying to synchronize files between a users c: drive and a network drive,
using the echo function in synctoy. This doesn't seem to be working, though.
When the user rearranges the directory structure on the c: drive, the changes
are not reflected in the structure on the network drive. Should they be ? It
seems like the files that are moved might be deleted on the network drive
from their original location and recreated in the changed location.

I hope I understand your question. The one issue I also have with SyncToy and
especially the echo feature is that SyncToy can't delete folders in the
destination folder.
so if you have subfolder "a" and rename it to folder "a1" on the source
(left side) folder, SyncToy will see it as a new folder, create a new "a1"
folder in the destination, copy the files over and leave an empty "a" folder
also in the destination. What it should really do is also delete the "a"
folder in the destination.

i.e.
Before:
Left: a
Right: a

After Folder name change (a->a1):
Left: a1
Right: a (now empty), a1

I find that this leaves a lot of empty folders in the destination which
should have been deleted.

Wonderful program & I hope they do add the delete folder feature in future
versions.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I kind of thought that was what was happening. I expected the
behaviour to be more like robocopy. Seems like it should be, but who knows.

Stay tuned for the next version which will fix this. Thanks for the feedback.
