In SyncToy I see there is way to use a wild card for what what files to
include. However, I am more interested in excluding files. For instance,
when copying from our development server to the production server, we want to
exclude the global.asa file and some Crystal .rpt files. I know that I can
probably use something like *.asp, *.inc, etc, but the ability to exclude a
single file or two would be nice to do rather than entering a number of file
extensions to include.
Also, logging. In order to satisfy our audit requirements, we need to be
able to look back and see what was done. I know there are other tools out
there, but SyncToy is the only thing our IT department has reluctantly signed
off on for us to use. I guess since it has the look and feel of MS, they are
allowing us to use it. Over all, I think SyncToy is good and reliable, so I
don't see a reason to change. I also understand that SyncToy is in its
infancy.
However, are there plans to add a logging feature, and are there plans to
add a way to exclude, as well as include, files? Thanks.
