I'm REALLY looking forward to 2.0 - V1.4 is already a winderful app - but I
can't install the beta yet as it requires all sync jobs to be up to date
first - and that might take a while. (and if I have multiple PC's echoing to
a central server and some common folders, do they all need to be up to date
first?)
In the meantime, here's a potential issue that maybe someone with the beta
already installed could check... (Apologies if this is known/dealt with/...
but I don't know how long the beta phase is running for and when/if I will
be able to install and test it myself...)
1. Set Windows to manage web pages as a single entity.
2. Sync a folder containing a saved web-page as .html plus folder _Files
(i.e. not e.g. .mht)
3. In the source folder, delete the saved web-page - check that folder
has gone too - & re-sync
4. Q: Does SyncToy 2.0 generate errors saying the _Files folders cannot
be found? If not - Great!, If it does...
I've seen this in SyncToy 1.4 and yesterday it suddenly dawned on me why:
web pages managed as single items. If the delete issued by SyncToy causes
the OS to delete file & folder together, then if SyncToy does not recognise
the file and folder as belonging together (and note the web management
settings) it would attempt to delete the folder itself... but it has already
gone by then...
SyncToy 2.0... self-buttering sliced bread!
