syncing of followups when using a db shared from a standalone xp b

My users can see history changes when they sync, but don't see followups,
what needs to be done for that to occur?

Do you mean followup emails? Emails sent from an Outlook with BCM,
should get automatically added to the history of a contact that
matches an address in the email's To. And auto-linking has to be
turned on in that BCM.
 
Followups are like tasks, so if one person set a scheduled task to call
someone in the future, the other person who has access to the shared bcm db
should also see the same followup that was created for a contact or acct.
 
I just tested where I made a contact and followup on one person's pc,
then I made another followup for the same contact from the other computer.
both computers now show two category symbols so they are syncing that way,
but if I complete the followup on one, nothing changes on the other.
