I connect my PC & Laptop with a simple cross-over cable
network connection at home. I use Outlook 2000 for email
(dial in to ISP) and Calendar, at home and when I'm away.

Could anyone tell me a simple way to keep sychronizing my
emails and calendar on my Laptop and PC, so that when I'm
away I can send/open emails and modify/add to my calendar,
update my PC when I return and vice versa?

I'm struggling - can anyone help please?

Thanks,

Rob E.

Rob,
I am in a similar situation except I have a PDA in the
equation. For your situation it may be best to use the
Briefcase feature. You have only one pst file (the one
from your desktop or laptop, whichever is the most
current right now) and store that on your desktop
computer. Create a new briefcase on your laptop machine
and put a copy of that pst file in it. Then, in your
outlook program on the laptop make sure you set it to use
the pst file in the briefcase. When you are away, all you
do will be in that file. When you get home and network
the two computers, briefcase will automatically notice
the file has changed and you can sync it with the desktop
file. BE CAREFUL though using this method - if you change
both the laptop file and the desktop file independantly,
the briefcase sync feature doesn't like it much and you
could have a headache. As long as you only work on one
then sync you will be fine.
Here is some more info from Microsoft.

Like Thomas said, Slipstick has alll the answers. If it's just between a
laptop and desktop you can simply copy the pst back and forth every day like
I do. I just move it back and forth over the network which is just a common
Fast Ethernet (100 mbps). My pst varies from 100 to 300 megs and I guess it
usually takes 15 or 20 seconds to copy it. Not too sophisticated but it
works like a charm.
