Hello,

Outlook 2007 is taking an extremely long time to open, about 1 hour. I
thought it may be becuase I turned on my Pop3 scan on my antivirus, but
turned it off and still having problem. There is an icon in the taskbar
with the control tip, Synchronizing folders. It came up yesterday, for the
first time, and now is appearing again. Could that be the problem? I have
been receiving 1 email for the longest time now.

Thanks for any help and God Bless,

Mark A. Sam

Reboot your PC, start outlook using the Safe switch does it still take
forever to start?
Run
Outlook.exe /safe
(Note space between, exe /)

If you saying it still took forever to open, have you run scanpst.exe
against your data file, with outlook closed?

Not today. But I restored a copy of the .pst from a couple days ago, when I
didn't have the problem, and it didn't help. I could give it a try,
however.

I restored the system to a Nov 30 checkpoint and got rid of the
Synchoronizing Folder icon, but there is a program called Thorconnwndclass
which has showed up when shutting down. It seems to be associated with
Outlook, but I can't get a clear understanding of what it is.

Its conected to an outlook add-in, starting outlook using the safe switch
should have prevented any add-ins from loading, you could then have examined
what add-ins are installed, in outlook

DL,

There were no Add-Ins. But the problem cleared up and Outlook is running
better then it had been. I don't know why. Thanks for your assistance.

God Bless,

Mark
